Al Jib Village on the West Bank Holds First Demonstration Against the Apartheid Wall; Aboud and Bil'in Demonstrations Continue
Al Jib, a small village on the West Bank between Bir Nabala and Giv'at Ze'ev settlement, will hold it's first non-violent, anti-wall demonstration tomorrow Friday, December 9th. At 11:00, the villagers and their international and Israeli supporters will gather in front of the Mosque, and walk towards the construction site of the illegal wall. A prayer will be held at the site, after which the non-violent demonstration will commence.
The weekly protests against the illegal Israeli apartheid wall continue in the West Bank villages of Bil'in and Aboud. The residents continue to refuse to give up their lands to the nearby settlements.
Tomorrow, on December 9th at 12:00, the habitants of Bil'in will gather to once again protest the illegal Israeli annexation wall. Supported by international and Israeli activists, they will march up to the construction site of the wall, where soldiers and border police usually block their path. Bil'in is severely affected by the wall, which aims to steal 60% of the agricultural land of the village, and transfer it to the nearby settlements.
On this Sunday, December 10th at 9:30, villagers of Aboud will hold a Christian mass, and after that embark on their fourth weekly consecutive non-violent protest against the illegal annexation wall. If finished, the wall will steal agricultural land, olive trees and water resources from the village, and block vital grasslands for shepherds and farmers. Aboud's water resources constitutes 20% of all the ground water in the West Bank, a plausible reason for the planned Israeli annexation that the wall constitutes.
