Kazakhstan: Murder of Zamanbek Nurkadilov
Question: What is the U.S. response to the killing of opposition leader Zamanbek Nurkadilov in Kazakhstan? Do we believe it was politically motivated?
Answer: The Almaty police are currently investigating the death of Mr. Nurkadilov, a former minister and government critic. We believe it premature to attribute political motives to the killing.
