Blair pays respects to Gandhi in India
Tony Blair has laid a wreath at the memorial to Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi on the first day of his visit
to India.
In the visitors book the PM said the principles in which Gandhi lived his life 'will endure forever', adding:
"Namely that the ultimate salvation for humanity comes when people of all colours, race, nations and religions learn to
live in peace and harmony with each other."
He then sprinkled rose petals at the Rajghat, the name of Gandhi's memorial, where he was cremated in 1948.
