Palestinian Killed in Rafah
Israeli Occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian early this morning in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah,
and wounded a young Palestinian at one of the military checkpoints near Jenin.
Medical sources at Abu Yousef Al Najar Hospital in Rafah said that Ahmad Barhoum (24) died of his wounds when Israeli
forces opened fire on him from watchtowers near the Yabna refugee camp.

Khan Yunis –
Palestinian homes in the West Khan Yunis refugee camp came under fire at 11:15am, 3:05pm and again at
10:35pm.
People’s homes in the in An Namsawi neighbourhood.
A Palestinian National Security patrol (as it was evacuating a number of children north of the neighbourhood of Al Amal.
Palestinian children near the security line opposite the neighbourhood of Al Amal.
Rafah –
At
12:55am, indiscriminate fire on the neighbourhood of Yabna in the Rafah refugee camp.
At
1:45am, the area of Ureibeh.
Tank shells at
3am and again at 4:44am.

Rafah – the Israeli Army killed Ahmed Roubin Barhoumah in the neighbourhood of Yabna in the Rafah refugee camp.

Home invasions and occupation: Numerous
Salfit – at 10:40pm, the Israeli Army raided the town of Deir Istiya and invaded the homes of villagers until 11:50pm.
Hebron –
Occupation forces raided the town of Dura and, meeting with resistance from the local people, violently asserted their
presence, injuring two Palestinian children and taking prisoner a 17-year-old. The Israelis raided the town again later
and invaded people’s homes.
The Israeli Army occupied a Palestinian house near the Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, forced the family out and
proceeded to use it for military purposes.

Jenin – after setting up a flying checkpoint near the Jewish settlement of Sanur along the Jenin-Nablus main road, the
Israelis took a man prisoner and gave him a savage beating while they were also assaulting other Palestinians.

Ramallah & El Bireh –
At 8:30am, the Israeli Army raided the village of Al Mughayir and took five villagers prisoner.
At 10:50am, the Israelis raided the city of El Bireh and ordered a number of people to report to the Israeli
Intelligence Service. El Bireh was raided again at 5:20pm and yet again at
2:55am.
At
10:10pm, an Israeli Army patrol raided the village of Deir Dibwan, smashing the lights of parked vehicles as they roamed
the village.
At
2:15am, an Israeli Army patrol raided the city of Ramallah and set up a checkpoint.
Nablus – At 3:30am, Israeli Occupation forces raided the village of Juneid, shooting and firing stun grenades in the
streets until 4am.
Bethlehem – at 10:30pm, the Israeli Army raided the Ayda refugee camp and then raided it again at 11:05pm.
Hebron – on 16 May 2005, the Israeli Army raided the town of Ash Shuyukh and invaded a house and a marble-processing
factory.
Settlement activity: 1
Hebron – The Israeli Army began construction of a racially segregated road for Jewish settlers near the settlement of
Kiryat Arba.
Settler violence: 2
Jericho – Israeli settlers from the Jewish settlement of Mitzpe Yericho stoned Palestinian vehicles travelling along the
main road between Jericho and Jerusalem.
Hebron – a gang of Israeli settlers terrorised the family of Jameel Abu Heikal, holding family members inside their
house in the neighbourhood of Tall Rumeida and preventing them from leaving.
