Perpetrators Of Shrine Bombing In Pakistan Must Be Brought To Justice - Annan
Reacting with outrage to the deadly bomb attack in a shrine in Pakistan today, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan said the perpetrators should be held accountable for the crime.
"The Secretary-General calls for those responsible to be brought to justice and appeals for calm and restraint in the face of this brazen and cowardly act," UN spokesman Fred Eckhard said in New York.
Through his spokesman, Mr. Annan condemned "in the strongest terms" the explosion in Baluchistan province that appears to have targeted civilians at a religious site and reiterated his well-known position that no cause can justify terrorist attacks anywhere.
