Annan To Meet With US's Powell And Rice

United Nations Secretary-General is slated to meet later this week in Washington with top foreign policy officials of the United States, his spokesman announced today.
Mr. Annan will have meetings Thursday morning with US Secretary of State Colin Powell and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice before addressing a meeting at the Council on Foreign Relations on UN renewal and US-UN relations.
The Secretary-General is then scheduled to fly to Brussels to attend the European Union Summit on Friday, after which he will return to New York.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General met today with the Ambassadors of the Latin American and Caribbean Group of Member States to discuss the report of the High-level Panel on Threats, Challenges and Change.
He held discussions on the report yesterday with representatives from Africa, Asia and the Western European and other States groups.
