United States Contract in Support of African Union Force Deployment
Question: What are the details of the Darfur contract? Who has it? When was it awarded? What is the amount?
Answer: The United States contracted with PAE, Inc., and Dyncorp on May 27, 2003 to perform peacekeeping and conflict management support-related taskings throughout sub-Saharan Africa. This is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with PAE, Inc. and Dyncorp, awarded in a fair and open manner, to fulfill delivery orders for up to five years. Through the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract, we have obligated $20.6 million to PAE, Inc. and Dyncorp to provide logistical support for the anticipated arrival of the enlarged African Union force of approximately 3,500 troops, including building camps, maintaining vehicles and radios, procuring office equipment, and providing transport of equipment or personnel.
