Elderly among 6 Palestinians Shot Dead by IOF in 48 Hours
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot dead six Palestinians, including an elderly, within the last 48 hours in the West
Bank and the Gaza Strip, and wounded and detained tens others in ongoing raids into densely-populated Palestinian
communities.
18-year-old Palestinian A’atef A’waja died Wednesday of wounds sustained during an IOF raid into the southern Gaza Strip
town of Rafah on Monday.
The same day, 69-year-old Ibrahim Ghandour died of teargas inhalation in Hebron during a Palestinian protest against
Israel’s extra-judicial assassination of Hamas founder and spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmad Yasin.
On Wednesday also, IOF handed the bodies of martyrs Mohammad Ahmad Al-Qadi, 22, and
Yaser Izzat Al-Sultan, 19, whom their soldiers shot dead late Tuesday.
Hammam Abu Ela’mrain, 21, was also shot dead in Rafah late Tuesday.
Abdullah Hasan Al-Mughaer, 18, also died in a hospital in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis of wounds sustained during
an IOF raid into Rafah last Thursday.
Early Thursday, IOF fired a missile at a Palestinian police station and wounded officer Marwan Jamil Awwad, 38, in Khan
Younis.
IOF troops backed by tanks raided Khan Younis again early Thursday.
On Wednesday, IOF military bulldozers demolished ten Palestinian houses in Khan Younis within just twenty-four hours.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops continued detaining Palestinian anti-occupation activists in the West Bank.
IOF on Wednesday detained fifteen Palestinians in the West Bank cities of Nablus, Qalqilya and Bethlehem, thirteen in
Hebron, three in Tubas, near Jenin and one in Nablus.
In the West Bank also IOF troops surrounded and imposed curfew on the northern village of Al-Yamoun south of Jenin
overnight Thursday, conducting house-to house searches for Palestinian activists.
