Solidarity With Palestinian Political Prisoners
Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals join to show solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners
[Salem, JENIN] Tomorrow, Monday, March 14, 2004 will take place the military court trial of Hussam Khader, President of the Committee for the Defence of Palestinian Refugees' Rights, at the Israeli military court in Salem near Jenin. Tomorrow, people will meet in Jenin, near the General Women Union, at 9:30am and head to Salem where a protest will take place at 10:00am, to show solidarity and to protest against this violation of human rights.
Since his arrest a year ago, political prisoner Khader has been held without trial in solitary confinement. He has been consistently subjected to inhumane treatment, including torture and solitary confinement. To coincide both with his trial and the one-year anniversary of his unlawful arrest, massive demonstrations will take place across the West Bank and Gaza. These will also be attended by members of Khader's family, human right organizations, internationals, NGOs and Israeli Knesset members.
Other demonstrations are scheduled: March 15: Ramallah, 12:00 p.m. Al-Manar Square. March 15: Gaza City, 11:00 a.m. Outside of the Red Cress Office, Al-Jal'a St. March 13: Bethlehem, Deheishe Refugee Camp 3:00 p.m. Outside Al- Finiq Hall. March 17: Nablus, Balata Refugee Camp 3:30 p.m. Meet outside the mosque followed by a demonstration through the streets. March 20: Tulkarem, 11:00 a.m. Tijaria Hall.
