IRAQ, UN REFORM TOP AGENDA OF ANNAN'S TRIP TO JAPAN

Global issues such as Iraq and United Nations reform top the agenda as Secretary-General Kofi Annan heads to Japan
tomorrow on a five-day official visit, his first in two years.
The Secretary-General's trip to Japan will be his first since January 2002 and his sixth visit to the country, according
to a UN spokesman.
During his stay, the Secretary-General is scheduled to meet the Emperor Akihito, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and
Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi.
Mr. Annan will also give an address to the Diet for the first time, as well as meet with Japanese business leaders and
the press.
