Schröder scheduled to visit United States
Chancellor Gerhard Schröder is scheduled to be in the United States on February 26 and 27 for the opening of an
exhibition on baroque art from the city of Dresden. A meeting with President Bush is expected to take place on the
sidelines of this visit.
An exhibition entitled "The Glory of Baroque Dresden" will show paintings, sculptures, and furniture from the baroque
period. It is being organized jointly by the Mississippi Commission for International Cultural Exchange and the State
Art Collections in Dresden.
Speaking in Berlin on January 5, deputy government spokesman Thomas Steg announced that Chancellor Schröder will
probably be meeting with President George W. Bush on the sidelines of the exhibition. Exactly when and where the meeting
will take place has yet to be determined, Steg noted.
