Birthday Party For Shot Briton At Foreign Office
The International Solidarity Movement in support of the Thomas Hurndall Foundation invite you to a party celebrating the 22nd birthday of Thomas Hurndall, the British photography student left brain dead after being shot in the head by an Israeli army sniper in Rafah, Gaza Strip in April 2003. Join supporters, friends and family members outside the British Foreign Office in Whitehall at 4pm on Thursday 27/11/2003.
Those campaigning for justice for Thomas Hurndall continue to call for a full and transparent investigation into Tom's shooting. Numerous eye witnesses have stated that Tom was shot in cold blood while protecting Palestinian children. The Israeli Authorities have only recently begun a military police investigation after months of indifference and lies. We call on the UK to ensure that this is not a whitewash and to ensure that a fully transparent, independent judicial inquiry is conducted into the shooting of Tom.
The party on Thursday will be held outside the FO and we will be inviting FO workers to join us in celebrating Tom's birthday. Following the party there will be a screening of the controversial and highly praised C4 Dispatches documentary 'The Killing Zone' and an Australian documentary, 'The Human Shields' produced on the issue for SBC Dateline (as yet unscreened in the UK). A panel discussion/Q session will follow the films featuring lawyer Imran Khan, the family of Tom and eyewitnesses. The screening & discussion will take place from 6pm in the New Theatre, London School of Economics, Houghton Street. The LSE has just elected Tom as honourary vice president of its student union and will make this award on Thursday.
