IOF Shoot Dead Two Palestinians, Including 11-Year-Old
Two Israelis Guarding Apartheid Wall Gunned Down
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Saturday shot dead two Palestinians, including an 11-year-old boy, in the West Bank
and the Gaza Strip as two Israeli security guards were killed near Jerusalem by the Apartheid Wall Israel is building on
occupied Palestinian land.
Eleven-year-old Palestinian boy Ibrahim Jalamna was shot dead on Saturday during an IOF military incursion into the
northern West Bank city of Jenin.
During the incursion, carried out by ten Israeli armored vehicles and a bulldozer, IOF troops opened gunfire on
stone-throwers, killing Ibrahim Jalamna, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said.
Also on Saturday, IOF shot dead Palestinian Ahmad A’ssaf, 22, near the a unilateral separation wall Israel had built
east of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
“The soldiers opened fire on a suspicious figure in area whose entry is forbidden to Palestinians near the security
fence” east of Beit Hanun, an IOF source claimed, alleging the man was suspected of planting a bomb.
IOF claimed a Kalashnikov assault rifle was found next to his body and after several hours of searches, the occupation
troops found a 20-kilo explosive device in the area, the source added.
IOF also announced it had arrested eight Palestinians overnight in the West Bank, four of them near Ramallah and the
other four in the Nablus area.
IOF on Saturday detained Jamil al-Rifae’i, 33, Ali Fayez al-Rifae’i, 22, and Ahmad Hamad Gaghrah in the West Bank
village of Kufr E’in, north of Ramallah.
They also detained four Palestinians in Assirah al-Shamaliyah and one Palestinian in Dir Ghasanah, both villages in the
northern West bank.
On Thursday, IOF undercover units detained Ahmad Dweikat in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, claiming he is a
leading Fatah activist.
A day earlier, they demolished the four-storey house of Basam Abu Libdeh and seriously wounded 20-year-old Ahmad Fathi
al-Bis with a live bullet in the head in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah.
Separately, two Israeli security guards were shot and killed Saturday in a Palestinian neighborhood on the outskirts of
Jerusalem.
The two security guards were gunned down near Abu Dis, a suburb on the eastern edge of Jerusalem, where part of the Wall
is under construction, said Israeli security officials and news reports.
The guards, who were traveling in a vehicle when they were shot, were employed by a private security firm, Israel radio
reported.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinians joined by Israeli and foreign activists demonstrated near the northern West Bank
town of Bartaa, on either side of Israel’s Apartheid Wall.
The 4,000-strong Palestinian town, which straddles the “Green Line” with Israel, has been cut off from the West Bank
cities, which are vital to its economy, by the Wall.
Some 300 Palestinian protestors supported by foreign activists from the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) gathered
on the West Bank side of the Wall, chanting slogans against the barrier.
Around 1,000 Palestinians and Israeli peace activists were on the western side of the gate, but a heavy IOF deployment
prevented them from crossing the gate.
A survey released on November 11 by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) noted that the
Wall only conforms to Israel’s recognized boundary on 11 percent of its planned route.
The report said that it would thus de-facto annex 15 percent of the West Bank and lead to severe humanitarian
consequences for more than 680,000 Palestinians.
“Little consideration appears to have been given by the Israeli government to the wall's impact on Palestinian lives,”
the report said.
