Straw to join delegation to Iran
Foreign Secretary Jack Straw will travel to Tehran for talks with the Iranian authorities on their nuclear programme tomorrow. He will be accompanied by representatives from the French and German governments.
"Resolving the doubts surrounding Iran's nuclear programme is of grave concern to the EU and to the wider international community," said the Foreign Secretary.
The French Foreign Minister, Dominique de Villepin, and the German Foreign Minister, Joschka Fischer, will join Mr Straw on what will be his fifth visit to Iran. The trip to Tehran is at the invitation of the Iranian Government.
Mr Straw said: "We will be impressing upon the Iranian authorities the urgent need for compliance with all of the requirements of the Resolution passed on 12 September by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency."
