PNA Calls on US to End Israel’s ‘Bloody Practices’
Palestine Media Center- (PMC)
The Palestine National Authority (PNA) Minister of Information, Nabil Amre, condemned the Israeli assassination attempt on Hamas political leader Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi as a “terrorist attack” aimed at sabotaging the Palestinian government’s efforts to resume the inter - Palestinian dialogue and avert Palestinian infighting.
Two people, a woman and a baby child, were killed on Tuesday after an Israeli Apache gunship fired at least five missiles at a car carrying the Hamas leader and his son Ahmad. Both of them were wounded in the attack.
In a press conference held at the Palestine Media Center- (PMC) Tuesday, the minister described the Israeli attack as an attempt to sabotage and destroy the internationally - adopted “roadmap” for peace.
This attack is a “serious Israeli attempt to back away from Israel’s responsibilities and commitment” to the peace process, the minister said.
“This attack is directed at sabotaging the international political efforts to end the Israeli aggression, occupation and restoration of the peace process,” he added.
The minister pointed out that Israel was aiming at “luring Palestinian reactions and sabotaging the inter-Palestinian dialogue,” stressing that the continuation of the national dialogue is the only way to block the attempts to create a state of Palestinian infighting.
Amre also said that the PNA has sent an urgent letter to the US administration warning of the danger facing the peace process because of Israel’s persistence in its “bloody practices” against the Palestinian people.
The PNA also called on the US to intervene immediately to stop “this escalation, which would not only hurt the Palestinian side but would also threaten the security of the entire region.”
