Changes of travel advice for Kuwait, Israel, UAE
The Foreign Office has revised its travel advice for Kuwait to advise British nationals to leave urgently and to advise
against all travel to Kuwait. It says there is a risk of an attack from Iraq in the event of hostilities. This might
involve chemical and biological weapons.
In addition, the Foreign Office is advising against all travel to Israel and the Occupied Territories and is urging
British nationals already in Israel to leave as soon as possible unless their presence is essential. British nationals
in the West Bank and Gaza should leave immediately.
The Foreign Office has ordered dependants of staff in the British Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate General in
Jerusalem to leave and is reducing the staffing of the Embassy and Consulate General.
Travel advice for the United Arab Emirates has also been revised to alert British nationals to the increased threat from
terrorism. The threat is now said to be 'high'.
