QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, why are you not in the Azores?
SECRETARY POWELL: The President is meeting with his fellow leaders in the Azores. Jack Straw the British Foreign Secretary and I, and Ana Palacio the Spanish Foreign Minister and I, are staying in touch with the situation in the UN in New York.
We've got new proposals coming in from the French, the Germans and the Russians that we have to deal with. I have already spoken to Foreign Secretary Straw early this morning and so it's a distribution of effort.
We're well aware of what's going on in the Azores and the President and I had good conversations on Friday of what we should expect just after the meetings.
