The Federal Returning Officer expresses his warmest thanks to the hundreds of thousands of voluntary workers in the
electoral boards. Without the readiness of so many people to put their personal needs after the interest of the state
community, performing a regular election would be impossible to ensure. Thanks are also expressed to those who have kept
the election process running smoothly by working at the elective offices, at authorities, or at the Deutsche Post AG
postal services.
The final official results of the 2002 Bundestag elections will be released by the Federal Electoral Committee at a
public meeting at the German Bundestag, room 1.228, Jakob-Kaiser-Haus (Eingang Wilhelmstraße 68), Berlin, on 9 October
