Five Australian feature films selected for Toronto

Five Australian feature films selected for Toronto International Film Festival
The Australian Film Commission today announced that five Australian feature films - Craig Lahiff's Black And White, David Caesar's Dirty Deeds, Bill Bennett's The Nugget, Rachel Perkins' One Night The Moon and Phillip Noyce's Rabbit Proof Fence -have been selected to screen at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, 6-15 September 2002.
Phillip Noyce's US feature The Quiet American has also been selected.
Dirty Deeds, The Quiet American and Rabbit Proof Fence will each be a Special Presentation of the Toronto Film Festival, with Black And White, The Nugget and One Night The Moon screening in the Contemporary World Cinema section.
"The Toronto International Film Festival has been a great supporter of Australian cinema over recent years. It is very pleasing that the work of both experienced directors and some newer talent will be screened at such a high-profile international event," said Kim Dalton, Chief Executive of the AFC.
Black And White is directed by Craig Lahiff with producers Helen Leake and Nik Powell, and financed by FFC, SAFC, Svensk Filmindustri and New Vision.
Dirty Deeds is directed by David Caesar with producers Deborah Balderstone and Bryan Brown, and financed by Macquarie Filmed Investments Pty Ltd, Nine Films and Television, FFC and FTO.
One Night The Moon is directed by Rachel Perkins with producers Aanya Whitehead, Kevin Lucas and Paul Humfress, and financed by the ABC, Opera Australia, AFC, FTO and the SAFC.
The Nugget is produced and directed by Bill Bennett with producer Jennifer Bennett, and financed by Macquarie Filmed Investments Pty Ltd, FFC, FTO and Premium Movie Partnership.
Rabbit Proof Fence is produced and directed by Phillip Noyce with co-producer Christine Olsen, and financed by FFC, SAFC, Premium Movie Partnership.
