Turkey: Abolition Of Death Penalty Welcomed

The Turkish parliament today voted in favour of abolishing the death penalty in peacetime.
Amnesty International welcomed this positive step by the Turkish parliament for which the organization has been campaigning for years.
The use of the death penalty has been retained in times of war and Amnesty International is calling on the Turkish authorities for a full end to its use.
