STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER FOR DEFENCE, SENATOR THE HON ROBERT HILL ON AUSTRALIA'S INVOLVEMENT IN OPERATION ANACONDA.
"The efforts of Australian forces during the current Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan reflect great honour on the Australian Defence Force and on our nation.
"Members of Australia's Special Forces have performed their duties with the skill, ingenuity and tenacity that have become the hallmark of the Australian Defence Force.
"The ongoing efforts of all of our forces deployed in the war against terrorism are writing another chapter in Australia's proud military history.
"They have earned our nation's respect and gratitude and we continue to pray for their safe return.
"Our thoughts are also with the families of our deployed forces at this difficult time."
