The Story Of Three Pregnant Women In Two Days In Occupation Land
Yesterday, a Palestinian pregnant women who tried to reach a hospital to give birth, was shot in the back at the Israeli army roadblock at the entrance to Nablus. Her sin: haunted by birth pangs she didn't immediately understand that the soldiers have ordered her to stop. The woman was transported to the Nablus Hospital and had to be operated while in the process of giving birth.
After this happened, the army published an official apology, but it seems that it did not impress the soldiers who manned today that same roadblock. Another Palestinian pregnant women was shot there under much the same circumstances. Also this woman had to be operated while in the process of giving birth, and when recovering from the operation was told that she is now a widow. This time - as an exception - the crying Palestinian woman with her baby were shown on television.
Later today, a highly pregnant Israeli settler woman was shot by Palestinian snipers while driving on one of the West Bank roads, south east of Bethlehem. She was brought to the Hadassa Hospital in Jerusalem. Also she had to be operated and gave birth in the operation room.
