Police question democracy group leader
Fiji police has questioned the leader of the Fiji First Movement, Mick Beddoes over a peaceful protest being organised
by the Movement.
Beddoes told last night's Close-Up TV program that the police interviewed him for two hand half hours and released him.
The probe was in relation to the call by the Fiji First for people to stay home on 19 February and pray for a positive
outcome of the court decision on the validity of the 1997 Constitution.
While the Fiji First has been probed and its leader interviewed, no report of any investigation into the threats issued
by the pro-regime politicians has been made. Numerous pro-regime individuals and organizations have threatened bloodshed
in Fiji if the regime lost the appeal.
