the United Nations Security Council, currently on a mission to East Timor to review the work of the UN operation in the

1) UN starts 'critical' Timor mission 13/11/00 (BBC) A delegation from the United Nations Security Council has arrived
in East Timor at the start of a critical four-day visit to the region.
2) Refugees on way home to East Timor 13/11/00 (The Age) Indonesia plans to repatriate 130 East Timorese refugees on
Monday from squalid militia- controlled camps in West Timor.
3) UNHCR Returns to West Timor to Repatriate 450 Refugees 13/11/00 (Lusa) The United Nations High Commission for
Refugees will organize the repatriation of 450 East Timorese refugees from West Timor in its first action in the
Indonesian half of Timor island since three UNHCR workers were murdered there on Sept. 6.

10) Police to question Tommy's lawyers 13/11/00 (Jakarta Post) JAKARTA - National Police Chief Gen. Surojo Bimantoro
said on Saturday that Hutomo "Tommy" Mandala Putra's defense lawyers would be questioned on Monday in connection with
their client's whereabouts.
11) Shoestring peacekeeping 13/11/00 (Janes) The United Nations, whose peacekeepers have been abducted and fired on by
rebels in Sierra Leone, is blaming the debacle largely on budgetary cuts, lack of trained staff and faulty and
sub-standard equipment.

12) Timor - Returns Update 10 Nov 2000 13/11/00 (IOM) IOM is planning its first major repatriation by sea since August.
On Monday 20 November, IOM will repatriate 447 people from Kupang to the East Timor port of Com aboard the IOM-operated
ship the Patricia Anne Hotung.
