APHC leaders warn of Nuclear Holocaust

In Occupied Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have warned of a nuclear holocaust if the Kashmir issue was
not resolved as soon as possible.
Former Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Gilani, while addressing a big gathering in Kupwara today called upon
international community to take concrete measures to help resolve the lingering problem of Kashmir. He said, Kashmir is
a disputed issue which is included in the UN agenda and even President Clinton has described it as the core issue. He
added that the whole world is stressing the need for resolving this vexed problem in the interest of peace and security.
On this occasion, Syed Ali Shah Gilani led the funeral procession of Shaheed Abdul Jabbar to Mazar-e-Shuda, which was
attended by thousands of people.
Another APHC leader Maulvi Abbas Ansari, addressing a public meeting at Ahmed Pura in Pattan said, no country of the
world accepts India's claim that Kashmir was its integral part. Condemning India's hegemonic policies Maulvi Ansari
said, India has thrust war on the Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, a Srinagar daily "Wadi Ki Awaz" in its editorial comments disclosed that more than 3000 citizens are
estimated to have disappeared after arrest during the last 11 years. The paper wrote that the Jungle law prevails in
occupied Kashmir and the Indian army has been vested with unlimited powers. Consequently the Kashmiris consider
themselves insecure, the paper said. It added that hardly a day passes without a youth being arrested in one area or
another and consequently he is made to disappear.
A joint team of Army and BSF cordoned off the small township of Dangiwacha in Northern Kashmir 15 kilometers from apple
town of Sopore. The searches and identification parades were in progress till the last reports came in. In Budgam, at
Beerwah the Indian troops filed upon the farmers working in their field injuring about 6 of them. The forces personnel
raided the religious institute Dar ul Uloom Qasmia located in Lal Bazaar Srinagar on the eve of its annual congregation
and arrested students Shakeel Ahmed Lankar, Nasir ud din and Mudassir Shafi. Forceful demonstrations were held against
their justified arrest.
