Much Ado About Nothing

Published: Thu 6 Apr 2000 11:44 AM
Justin Kean and Brad McCormick were two highly talented young men, with an ability to bring laughter to all those around them. Tragically, they disappeared mysteriously in their prime, leaving the world berift of any written works…. Or so it was believed until now.
Just a few months ago, a small child playing in the forest uncovered a 2B4 lying concealed under a rotting log. Intrigued by the blood stains on the cover, the child took the book home to his parents, who were amazed to discover it contained a play scirpt. Considering themselves to be theatrebuffs, the parents took the script to one of their bohemian friends, who decided to bring the last work of Justin and Brad to life..........

Their play, 'Much Ado About Notting' is being performed in the TV2 International Laugh Festival and is a combination of Shakespeare and soap opera. Written in Shakespearian prose, it contains 5 acts with a continuous soap opera plot running through it. On top of that, each act is a parody of a famous Shakespeare play - for example, Act 1 takes lines and scenarios from Macbeth (three witches etc.)
We may never know what became of Brad and Justin, but their work lives on. See "Much Ado About Notting" and help keep their dream alive.
