1) East Timor investigators to be named shortly û Indonesia 22/03/00 (Jakarta Post) JAKARTA - A team tasked to investigate last year's violence in East Timor will be established by next week, focusing on five of the most notorious incidents, Attorney General Marzuki Darusman said on Tuesday.
2) East Timor: Dutch War Crime Replayed 22/03/00 (Jakarta Post) AMSTERDAM - Fifty-five years after a Dutch officer, Raymond Westerling, engaged in war crimes in the shadow of Indonesia's decolonization, a number of Indonesian officers were accused of similar crimes in what was essentially last year's decolonization of East Timor.

7) Indonesian military tied to recent attacks 21/03/00 (Washington Post) DILI - U.N. peacekeepers have concluded that the Indonesian military has been involved in a recent spate of attacks by paramilitary units across the increasingly tense border separating newly independent East Timor from Indonesian-controlled western Timor.
8) UN Strengthens Security Along Timor Border 21/03/00 (Sydney Morning Herald) United Nations security along East Timor's 172-kilometre-long border with Indonesia has been drastically strengthened after a series of incursions by pro-Jakarta militia.

9) IOM/UNHCR: Timor Activity Update: 21 Mar 2000 22/03/00 (IOM/UNHCR) There is a continuing need to return displaced people in West Timor to their communities of origin in East Timor, in order for rehabilitation, reconstruction and development to begin. The safe and orderly return transportation of displaced people is the responsibility of IOM by agreement and in close co-operation with UNHCR.
