1) Militia suspect held after gun battle. 08/03/00 (Sydney Morning Herald) United Nations peacekeepers have captured a suspected pro-Jakarta militiaman after a gun battle in highland country deep inside East Timor.
2) East Timor incursions on the increase 08/03/00 (Australian Broadcasting Corp.) MARK COLVIN: For the past couple of months it seemed the militia groups along the border between East and West Timor had almost given up the fight, but a series of incidents over the past week has the United NationsÆ forces worried that this may be the beginning of a renewed campaign.
