(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Alvaro Guzman of the
MFA's International and Human Security Office on November 25.
Guzman listened intently and said he would share the talking points
with the head of the office, Ambassador Alfredo Labbe, who was out
of the country. Guzman was not aware of Chile's position on the
issue. However, he noted that Ambassador Labbe is very engaged on
the NPT and will likely spend the entire month of May attending the
review conference. Labbe plans to run for election as a
vice-president of the group, but Guzman wasn't sure which vice
presidential position he is interested in.
