1. (SBU) On October 19, the Ambassador passed a non-paper
outlining the U.S. approach to multilateral food security
efforts to Tunisian Minister of Development and International
Cooperation Mohammed Jouini. Jouini offered no substantive
response but undertook to consult with his colleagues in the
Tunisian government concerning next steps.
2. (U) Additionally, also on October 19, the Embassy conveyed
the letter transmitted reftel from Secretary Clinton to
Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdallah concerning the Partnering
for Food Security Event held in New York in September and
preparations for the World Food Summit in Rome in November.
