SUMMIT ON NOVEMBER 15, 2009 IN SINGAPORE
The Thai MFA passed a dipnote to the Embassy informing the
USG that Prime Minister Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva has invited
President Barack Obama to attend the ASEAN-US Summit on
November 15, 2009 in Singapore.

Honorable President:
On behalf of my ASEAN colleagues, I have the honor to extend
a warm invitation to you to attend the ASEAN-US Summit on 15
November 2009 in Singapore.
I am pleased to note that ASEAN-US dialogue Relations have
flourished and gained much momentum over the past three
decades. We have achieved significant progress with the
adoption of the ASEAN-US Enhanced Partnership in 2005 and its
Plan of Action in 2006.
I strongly believe that the ASEAN-US Summit next month will
provide a timely opportunity for Leaders to have free flow
discussions and candid exchanges of views which will pave the
way for further cooperation between ASEAN and the United
States in years to come, as well as to commemorate the
cordial relations that span over three decades.
Accept, Honorable President, the renewed assurances of my
highest consideration.
