SUBJECT: MEXICO SUPPORTS USG CANDIDATE FOR UNITED NATIONS
COMMISSION, REQUESTS SUPPORT FOR GOM CANDIDATE
1. Mexico's Foreign Secretariat (SRE), per diplomatic note
004370 dated August 20, 2009, announced its decision to
support USG candidate Lucretia F. Meyers to the United
Nations International Civil Service Commission for the
2010-2013 term. Mexico also reiterates its request that the
USG support the reelection of Luis Mariano Hermosillo to the
United Nations Committee on Contributions for the 2011-2013
term in elections that will be held during the 65th UN
General Assembly.
2. Action Request: Embassy requests Department guidance on
responding to Mexico's appeal for support.
