SUBJECT: ETHIOPIA: LEAHY VETTING ASSISTANCE/APPROVAL FOR
RECEIPT OF 1206 EQUIPMENT.
1. (SBU) Post requests the Department's assistance in
screening the following Ethiopian citizens and units who have
been identified for receipt of USG-funded equipment, pursuant
to the Leahy Act and Foreign Assistance Act. Post has no
derogatory information on these units or individuals.
2. (SBU) MG Gezae and the logistics department are scheduled
to receive equipment under the FY 09 radio program and FY 08
Counter Terrorism program. LTG Bacha and the Combat Engineer
Center are scheduled to receive equipment under the FY 08
1206 CBT Engineer program. COL Hagos and the Central Air
Group are scheduled to receive equipment through the FY 07
C-130 program.
