SUBJECT: RELOCATING DEA PERSONNEL FROM BOLIVIA TO OTHER

1. (C) The following information is provided in response to
questions in reftel A regarding the relocation of three DEA
positions from Embassy La Paz to Embassy Buenos Aires.
2. (C) As reported in reftel B, on November 14, 2008,
Ambassador Wayne advised Minister of Justice Anibal Fernandez
that Embassy Buenos Aires anticipated receiving three (3)
additional DEA agents out of La Paz, provided that the GOA
approved. Minister Fernandez expressed no objections. Post
will begin the process of official notification as of
December 15, 2008.
3. (C) Embassy Buenos Aires is willing and able to accept the
one (1) Group Supervisor and two (2) Special Agent DEA
positions.
4. (C) Post is willing and able to accept the one (1) Group
Supervisor position prior to January 29, 2009. Office space
is available. However, the employee (and dependents) would
have to stay in a hotel or other temporary quarters until
suitable housing is arranged.
