SUBJECT: HUMAN RIGHTS VETTING FOR US SPONSORED TRAINING
FOR KAREEM
1. This is an action request.
2. Pursuant to the Leahy Act and Foreign Assistance Act, post
requests the Department's assistance in screening the following
candidates from the Iraqi Security Forces who has been nominated for
training in the United States. Post has no derogatory information.
3. The name of the proposed candidate follows:
NAME: TAREQ MOHAMMED KAREEM
POSITION: Major
DOB: December 20, 1963
TYPE OF TRAINING: English Language Training
TRAINING LOCATION: National Defense University in San Antonio, TX
and Washington DC
DATES OF TRAINING: 07 January 2009 - 10 June 2010
Please note - the course he was suppose to attend is supposed to
begin January 7th; however he will not be traveling until the
response for the Leahy vetting is received at Post. His visa
processing is also still pending.
