7. This invitation for Bids follows the General
Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in
Development Business issue on May 2008.
The Government of Mozambique has received a credit from
the International Development Association toward the
cost of Trans frontier Conservation Areas and Tourism
Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of
this credit to payments under the contract for: Supply
and installation of Radio communication system for
Chimanimani National Reserve, Maputo National Reserve,
Banhine National Park and Zinave National Park.
The Ministry of Tourism now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for Supply and
installation of Radio communication system for
Chimanimani National Reserve, Maputo National Reserve,
Banhine National Park and Zinave National Park.
8. Bidding will be conducted through the International
Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the
World BankQs Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans
and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further
information from the Procurement Unit, Trans frontier
Conservation Areas and Tourism Development Project and
inspect the Bidding Documents at the above mentioned
address from 8:30 until 15:30 (local time)
9. The bidder shall provide documentary evidence that it
meets the following financial and technical
requirements: (i) the average annual turnover of the
last 3 years shall be at least USD 750.000,00; (ii)
provide documentary evidence to demonstrate that it
meets the following experience requirements: executed
with good performance at least 2 similar contracts in
the last 3 years (type of goods and value); (III)
provide local agency representation in Mozambique, or be
regionally capable of supporting equipment supplied to
Mozambique; (iv) a bidder that does not have its own in-
country or regional representation must conclude a
binding agreement with a local agent that is duly
registered and authorized to operate on a permanent
basis in Mozambique or regionally. The agreement must
cover the installation phase and after sales service for
a five year period.
10. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English or
Portuguese may be purchased by interested bidders on the

submission of a written application to the address given
on Item 6B and upon payment of a non refundable fee of
USD 100.00 or the equivalent in local currency Meticais
or any convertible currency. The method of payment will
be through cahierQs check or cash. The Bidding
Documents may be sent by international courier at
suppliers request against a non refundable fee of USD
50.00. Bids must be delivered to the above mentioned
address at or before December 15, 2008 at 14:30 (local
time). Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late
bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the
presence of the bidderQs representatives who choose to
attend. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security
of USD 5.000,00 or equivalent in local currency,
Meticais or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
