1. Per reftel, DCM met with Roberto Soares, Director for
External Affairs at Timor-Leste's Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
to explain our position on the upcoming UNGA vote on referring
the question of Kosovo's independence to the International Court
of Justice.
2. Soares thanked us, saying that Timor-Leste was still
studying the matter. He reiterated that Timor-Leste greatly
valued its role at the UN and its engagement with the US on ,
and would carefully factor in our reasoning in reaching a
decision.
