1. On October 18, Embassy Baghdad received a diplomatic note
from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Iraq which
forwarded a letter from Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliky
to President George W. Bush. Below is the text of the letter.

President of the United States of America
Dear Mr. President,
I have received your congratulation on the occasion of Eid
Al-Fitr with great pleasure and I sincerely thank you for it.
On this occasion I wish to send you and your esteemed family
my greetings and wishes for good health and comfort. I also
wish to convey to the American people through Your Excellency
wishes of well being, comfort and progress.
Please accept my deepest expressions of appreciation and
respect.
