(SBU) Singapore believes it is not appropriate to discuss and
vote on country-specific human-rights resolutions in the UN
General Assembly, MFA International Organizations Deputy
Director Daryl Sng told POLOFF, in giving Singapore's
official response to reftel demarche on September 17. (Note:
In the past, Singapore has consistently abstained on
country-specific human-rights resolutions in the UNGA. End
Note. ) Sng added that Singapore would reserve judgment on
any thematic resolutions until it had seen the full draft
text for each resolution.
