1. Per reftel, Post contacted the Defense
Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and Hanwha
International Corporation by email and phone. Due
to resource constraints, a site visit was not
conducted.
2. Major Seong-mok LEE with the Gun and Ammunition
Contract Team at DAPA verified to Post that the
signed contract between DAPA and Hanwha is a bona
fide contract. Under the contract, DAPA placed an
order for a total of 13,640 105mm-artillery fuses
with Hanwha International Corporation. The fuses
will be used by the ROK Army and Navy.
3. Mr. Jong-wook BAIK, Manager of Purchasing Team
at Hanwha International Corporation, also confirmed
to Post that the company has placed an initial order
for 200 detonators. Baik confirmed to Post that the
200 detonators under the license application are
part of a larger order for 13,630 detonators that
will be incorporated by Hanwha into 13,630 105mm-
artillery fuses for the ROK Army and Navy. If the
initial shipment of the detonators purchased from
the U.S. seller, Vic K-International, proves to be
competent in quality, the company intends to procure
the full order from Vic K-International.
4. Copies of the contract and item specification
will be sent separately by e-mail. The asterisk
signs on the right side of each page by the item
specification show the number of artillery fuses
that DAPA has ordered from Hanwha.
