1. (SBU) Post delivered reftel objectives to Ministry of Foreign
Affairs First Secretary, Ms. Martine Young Kim Fat on September 19,
and had a follow up meeting with Young Kim Fat on September 24.
Young Kim Fat informed POLOFF that she personally agreed with USG
points about blocking Syria and Iran from the board and that she
would convey this when she delivered USG points to the concerned
Mauritian voting parties.
2. (SBU) As for the other reftel demarche points, Young Kim Fat said
that the official responsible for voting, Mr. Rajcoomar Bikoo,
Director of Technical Services at the Ministry of Public Utilities,
along with her Ministry are just now considering this vote, and that
USG timing was perfect. She says that the USG demarche was the
first and only outside request received thus far and that all points
will be taken into account.
