SUBJECT: NIAMEY VISAS VIPER REPORT FOR AUGUST 2008
1. (SBU) Post Visas Viper Committee met on September 15, 2008.
Visas Viper Coordinator is Conoff Karan Swaner. Visas Viper
Committee Chair CDA Eric Whitaker requested information from the
committee.
2. (SBU) Members of the Visas Viper Committee mentioned that
sometime in the spring of 2008, Amcit Kristina Marlene Lasley (born
14 October 1956 in Iowa) came to the consular section to inquire
about repatriation loans. She had been living in Niamey with her
husband, who she identified as Abdoul Wahid (place and date of birth
unknown). She stated that her husband is a member of the Muslim
Brotherhood who travels frequently within Africa and North Africa.
Post has not been able to confirm her story and we have no
additional information about her husband or her present
whereabouts.
