1. (U) On September 13, Dep/Pol/C discussed U.S. priorities
for the upcoming meeting of the Community of Democracies with
Cicilia Rusdiharini, Deputy Director for North American
Affairs at the Department of Foreign Relations. Dep/Pol/C
emphasized that the United States took the CD dialogue
seriously and urged that DEPLU consider U.S. positions
carefully. Dep/Pol/C left a lightly edited version of reftel
discussion as a nonpaper.
2. (U) Rusdiharini welcomed the U.S. points and said that
she would convey the U.S. positions to the offices that would
represent Indonesia in the September 26 meeting on the
margins of the United Nations General Assembly.
