1. (U) This message is Sensitive but Unclassified -- Please
handle accordingly.
2. (SBU) SUMMARY -- The GOI has confirmed that Foreign
Minister Wirajuda will participate in the upcoming U.N.
General Assembly. President Yudhoyono apparently will not be
there. Mission will continue to work with the Indonesian
government in order to get a full and final list of key GOI
officials participating in UNGA. END SUMMARY.
3. (SBU) In response to Ref B request regarding host nation
participation in the 63rd United Nations General Assembly
(UNGA), Mission has checked with the Indonesian government
and we have the following input:
A) Head of State and Government - President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono will apparently not/not be participating, but we
await final confirmation of that.
B) The Foreign Minister will participate:
-- Name: Hassan Wirajuda
-- Title: Minister of Foreign Affairs
-- Arrival/Departure dates To be confirmed
-- Spouse's attendance: To be confirmed
-- The FM speaks fluent English and no interpretator is
needed.
C) Other VIPS - To be confirmed
D) Attendance of the foreign ministry official responsible
for IO Affairs: The participation of Dr. Desra Percaya,
Director for International Security and Disarmament Affairs
at the Department of Foreign Affairs, has not yet been
confirmed.
4. (U) Mission will continue to work with the Indonesian
government in order to get a full and final list of key GOI
officials participating in UNGA.
