Portugal believes international unity has been a positive
factor in dealing with the Burmese Government's missteps
since the cyclone and that continued coordination among the
international community is necessary to ensure aid is
delivered effectively to cyclone victims. Luis Brito Camara
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on June 30 that
Portugal agrees increased transparency and accountability by
the Burmese government are important for ensuring future
assistance is effectively administered.
