1. (SBU) The Embassy of Switzerland received a diplomatic
note dated June 26, 2008 announcing that former Cubint
chief,Dagoberto Rodriguez Barrera, has been chosen as the new
Vice-Minister of foreign relations of Cuba, replacing Eumelio
Caballero Rodriguez who was named Ambassador to Algeria.
Rodriguez'responsibilities include North America, Europe,
consular issues, and the expatriate Cuban commuinity.
