1. Journalist Moussa Kaka was granted provisional release from
prison on June 23, 2008. Kaka is the director of the private radio
Saraounia and RFI correspondent in Niger. He was arrested on
September 20, 2007 and later charged under Niger's national security
statute for alleged collaboration with MNJ rebels.
2. The state prosecutor appealed the decision, and Kaka was back in
custody shortly after his release.
3. No trial date has been set.
