1. (SBU) Poloff stressed again with Armando Vivanco
Castellanos, the Foreign Ministry's Deputy Director General
for Human Rights and Democracy, on May 12, the importance the
U.S. attached to support for the US-EU sponsored Prisoners of
Conscience Declaration at the upcoming UNGA meeting. He
assured poloff that the Government of Mexico is analyzing
whether Mexico would co-sponsor the declaration and will
forward its decision to its UN Permanent Representative.
