On May 19, Nicholas Rivas, Director for Multilateral Affairs
at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, advised Econoff in
follow-up to Ref A delivery of WIPO points that the GOC will
support a Latin American candidate for the WIPO Director
General position. Rivas noted that the decision on which
particular Latin American candidate the GOC would support was
not yet final, but identified Mexican candidate Jorge Amigo
as particularly well-qualified.
