(U) On March 27, Poloff spoke with Farhat Ayesha, Deputy
Director for UN and International Organizations at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss Pakistan's support
for the new Special Representative of the UN Secretary
General for Afghanistan, Kai Eide. Ayesha confirmed Pakistan
does support Eide and informed Poloff the Pakistan delegation
to the UN officially greeted him upon his appointment.
